Anderson & Wakeman

Jon Anderson (25 de octubre de 1944), es un cantante, compositor, músico y fundador del grupo de rock progresivo británico: Yes; además de su trabajo como solista y con Vangelis.

Rick Wakeman, nacido Richard Christopher Wakeman el 18 de mayo de 1949 en Perivale (Londres) es un teclista británico, famoso por ser integrante del grupo de rock progresivo Yes y por su prolífica carrera solista.

Jon Anderson (25 de octubre de 1944), es un cantante, compositor, músico y fundador del grupo de rock progresivo británico: Yes; además de su trabajo como solista y con Vangelis.

John Roy Anderson, conocido mundialmente como Jon Anderson, nació en el pueblo de Accrington en Lancashire Reino Unido, hijo de Albert y Kathleen Anderson. Asistió de pequeño a la “St. John’s Infants School” en Accrington, y comenzó sus primeros ensayos musicales a temprana edad tocando la tabla de lavar en “Little John’s Skiffle Group”, donde interpretaban canciones de Lonnie Donegan entre otros.

Anderson abandonó la escuela a los 15 años, y realizó una serie de trabajos variados incluido el de peón de granja, conductor de camiones y lechero.

Empezó siendo un pianista entrenado en música clásica, y se hizo célebre por el empleo de multitud de teclados electrónicos que fueron en su momento de última generación, y el uso de orquestas y coros como acompañamiento de una banda de rock.

Compró su primer teclado electrónico (un sintetizador Minimoog) del actor Jack Wild. Wakeman pudo comprarlo a mitad de su precio de venta ya que Wild creía que no funcionaba bien porque sólo ejecutaba una nota a la vez (no sabía que se trataba de un sintetizador monofónico).

Actualmente tiene un programa en la radio Planet Rock. Es considerado por la crítica musical y los aficionados como uno de los más destacados teclistas de rock de la historia.
