Sinéad Marie Bernadette O’Connor (AFI: /???ne?d o??k?n?r/; Dublín, 8 de diciembre de 1966) es una cantautora irlandesa. Se hizo famosa por su extraordinaria voz y sus composiciones. Sinéad Marie Bernadette O’Connor nació en Dublín. Recibió esos nombres por Sinéad de Valera, esposa del presidente irlandés Éamon de Valera y madre del doctor que ayudó en el nacimiento de Sinéad, y de santa Bernadette de Lourdes. Sus padres, Jack O’Connor y Marie O’Connor, se casaron a muy temprana edad y tuvieron grandes problemas matrimoniales. Ella fue la tercera de cinco hijos y fue testigo de inestabilidades en el matrimonio que más tarde se reflejaron en una personalidad rebelde a los dogmas y convenciones. Sinead tenía ocho años cuando sus padres se divorciaron.
Los tres hijos mayores fueron a vivir con su madre, donde los O’Connor fueron objeto de frecuentes abusos físicos. Su canción «Fire on Babylon» es acerca de los efectos de su propio abuso.
En 1979, Sinéad dejó a su madre y se fue a vivir con su padre y su nueva esposa. Sin embargo, su mal comportamiento escolar llevó a que fuera internada en una escuela-reformatorio a los quince años, el Centro de Capacitación de Grianan, dirigido por las Hermanas de Nuestra Señora de la Caridad.

En 1983, su padre la envió a Newtown School, una exclusiva escuela en Waterford con una atmósfera mucho más permisiva que Grianan. Con la ayuda y el aliento de su profesor de lengua irlandesa, Joseph Falvy, grabó un demo de cuatro canciones, dos de ellas composiciones propias, que más tarde aparecerían en su primer álbum.
En el verano de 1984 formó un grupo llamado Ton Ton Macoute, denominado así por las milicias gubernamentales haitianas. En otoño, la banda se trasladó a Waterford brevemente, mientras Sinéad asistía a Newtown, pero pronto abandonó la escuela y los siguió a Dublín, donde su actuación recibió comentarios positivos.
El 10 de febrero de 1985, la madre de Sinéad murió en un accidente de coche. Para Sinead fue devastador pese a la tensa relación con su madre. Rory Gallagher
William Rory Gallagher (Ballyshannon, Irlanda, 2 de marzo de 1948-Londres, Inglaterra, 14 de junio de 1995) fue un músico, compositor y productor irlandés de blues rock, rhythm and blues y rock, conocido mundialmente por ser fundador de la banda Taste y por su exitosa carrera en solitario.

Debutó como guitarrista profesional a los 15 años de edad en el sexteto Fontana, pero al poco tiempo se retiró para crear el power trio Taste, en 1966. Tras lanzar los discos Taste y On the Boards, disolvió la banda por problemas entre sus miembros e inició su carrera en solitario en 1971 con el disco Rory Gallagher. Durante los años setenta alcanzó la fama en Europa gracias a las producciones Deuce, Blueprint y Tattoo, cargados al blues rock, pero con los álbumes Against the Grain y Calling Card se introdujo en nuevos y distintos estilos musicales, como el jazz, rock y hard rock.
Durante la década de los ochenta publicó solo tres álbumes de estudio, debido a los serios problemas de salud que derivaron de un excesivo consumo de alcohol. Además, y a finales del decenio, desarrolló una severa aerofobia, contra la cual se le recetó un fuerte sedante, cuya combinación con el consumo de alcohol dañaron de tal forma su hígado que tuvo que ser sometido a un trasplante. Sin embargo, y tras infectarse con estafilococos (SAMR), tras varias semanas de cuidados intensivos falleció en Londres a los 47 años de edad.
Con los años ha sido considerado uno de los músicos irlandeses más influyentes de la historia y uno de los guitarristas de blues rock más exitosos. Además, hasta el 2013 se estimó que había vendido más de 30 millones de discos en todo el mundo.

Nightnoise
Nightnoise fue una banda que fusionaba la música tradicional irlandesa con el jazz, activa durante los años 80 y 90.
Nightnoise comenzó como una colaboración entre el violinista estadounidense Billy Oskay y el guitarrista irlandés Mícheál Ó Domhnaill. Juntos lanzaron el álbum Nightnoise en 1984. Tres años después la hermana de Mícheál, pianista y vocalista, Tríona Ní Dhomnaill, quien había colaborado previamente con su hermano en Skara Brae, Relativity, y Bothy Band; y el flautista irlandés-estadounidense, Brian Dunning se unieron al dúo original. El primer álbum del cuarteto fue Something of Time, lanzado por Windham Hill en 1987. Este fue seguido por At the End of the Evening en 1988, The Parting Tide en 1990, y la compilación A Windham Hill Retrospective en el año 1992. Este fue el último álbum del cual participó Oskay, ya que decidió dejar la banda.
Luego de la partida de Oskay, el violinista escocés Johnny Cunningham, anteriormente integrante de Silly Wizard quien había tocado con Tríona y Micheal en la banda Relativity, tomó la ocupación de Oskay. La banda tomó un sonido mucho más irlandés, cuando aún retenían su estilo propio. El nuevo Nightnoise lanzó los álbumes Shadow of Time en 1994, A Different Shore en 1995, y el favorito de su público, The White Horse Sessions en el año 1997, un álbum que ofrece canciones en vivo mezcladas con canciones de estudio, con los colegas de Windham Hill como audiencia. El álbum también ofrece material original sólo disponible en este formato en vivo (las canciones «Heartwood», «Do We», y «Murdo of the Moon»), así como un cover del clásico de Van Morrison, Moondance. A la fecha de estas líneas (15 de octubre de 2006), The White Horse Sessions permanece como el último álbum de Nightnoise. Cunningham dejó la banda luego de dicho lanzamiento, y fue reemplazado por el violinista irlandés John Fitzpatrick. En una entrevista de 1999, Micheal O’Dohmnaill indicó que Nightnoise no se ha separado, y que la banda se estaría reuniendo pronto. Han grabado material nuevo desde entonces (composiciones originales y covers de canciones clásicas), pero todos para álbumes compilatorios, no propios. El 15 de diciembre de 2003 Johnny Cunningham murió de un ataque al corazón. Tenía 46 años. El 7 de julio de 2006 Micheal O’Dohmnaill murió en Irlanda a la edad de 54 años.

Gilbert O’Sullivan
Gilbert O’Sullivan (Waterford, Irlanda, 1 de diciembre de 1946) es un cantante y compositor irlandés-británico, distinguido internacionalmente por sus éxitos de 1972; «Alone Again (Naturally)», «Clair» y «Get Down». Este cantautor irlandés de pop calmado con sofisticados arreglos orquestales y soft-rock de fácil escucha conquistó a comienzos de los años 70 las listas de ventas británicas con su meloso y elegante proceder melódico y su aguda capacidad como letrista.
O’Sullivan nació en Waterford, Irlanda, siendo el segundo hijo de seis hermanos. Su familia decidió emigrar en 1953 a Swindon, ciudad perteneciente al condado Wiltshire, en Inglaterra. Allí, se formó en la escuela St Joseph’s, en donde desarrolló su interés indeleble por la música y el arte. Luego en la academia de arte de Swidon, aprendió a tocar guitarra y posteriormente el piano. Además, tocó la batería en una banda llamada Rick’s Blues creada por Rick Davies (fundador de la banda de rock progresivo Supertramp). Otras bandas en las que participó mientras permaneció en la academia fueron The Doodles y The Prefects. Asimismo, Gilbert comenzó a componer canciones, siendo la primera «Ready Miss Steady».
Comenzó en 1967 con su single debut «Dissapear» y «What Can I Do» (1968) fue liberado por la CBS como una pequeña noticia. En este punto, Raymond O’Sullivan -no así Gilbert- fue utilizado solo como compositor y cantante prometedor en ciernes. Entra Gordon Mills, manager de MOR y de las superestrellas Tom Jones y Engelbert Humperdinck, En 1969, O’Sullivan tiene un acercamiento con Mills y se inicia una relación de sus canciones por un año y la mitad del siguiente, uniendo ambos fuerzas. O’Sullivan y Mills trabajaron alegremente y su relación de trabajo era excelente, pero desafortunadamente, años más tarde terminaría en malas actitudes y litigios.

Gary Moore
Robert William Gary Moore (Belfast, Irlanda del Norte, 4 de abril de 1952-Estepona, España, 6 de febrero de 2011) fue un músico, compositor y productor norirlandés de blues rock y hard rock, conocido mundialmente por haber sido guitarrista líder en bandas como Thin Lizzy, Colosseum II y la banda irlandesa Skid Row, y por su extensa carrera en solitario como vocalista además.

Inició su carrera musical a los 16 años en la banda irlandesa Skid Row, donde conoció a su gran amigo Phil Lynott líder de Thin Lizzy. En esta última agrupación grabó el tema «Still in Love With You» del álbum Nightlife (1974) y más tarde grabó íntegramente Black Rose: A Rock Legend (1979). A finales de la década de los setenta se tomó en serio su carrera como solista con la publicación de varios discos basados en el blues rock, hard rock y heavy metal. En la década siguiente y gracias a los álbumes Victims of the Future (1983), Run for Cover (1985), Wild Frontier (1987) y After the War (1989) alcanzó el reconocimiento mundial, obteniendo buenos resultados en las listas musicales como también en ventas.
En los años noventa se dedicó cien por cien al blues y en especial al blues rock, que con discos como Still Got the Blues (1990) y After Hours (1992), esto le permitió compartir con artistas como B.B. King, Albert Collins, George Harrison y Albert King, entre otros. En el posterior decenio decidió mezclar sus influencias, dando paso a álbumes que fluctuaron entre el hard rock y el blues rock.
Gary además fue conocido por ser uno de los guitarristas más solicitados para trabajar en discos de otros artistas como Greg Lake, Cozy Powell, John Mayall, Mick Jagger y Jack Bruce, entre muchos otros y también fue uno de los primeros músicos en mezclar el rock con la música celta.
Tras más de cuarenta años dentro de la escena musical, falleció de un ataque al corazón mientras dormía en un hotel de la ciudad española de Estepona en el año 2011.
