Mary Travers

Nacido en Tallahassee (Florida), se crio en Winter Haven (Florida) con su madre y sus seis hermanos. Empezó su carrera musical en 1961 como miembro de una banda local, The Rumours. La banda incluyó a Gram Parsons y Jim Stafford, así como al baterista John Corneal, quien después se unió a la International Submarine Band de Parsons. John Entwistle
John Alec Entwistle (Chiswick, Londres, Inglaterra, 9 de octubre de 1944-Las Vegas, Nevada, Estados Unidos, 27 de junio de 2002) fue un músico, compositor y productor británico, más conocido por su trabajo como bajista del grupo británico de Rock The Who. Fue el único miembro del grupo en tener una formación musical formal, y su sonido característico influyó a otros bajistas de Rock. Entwistle logró hacer que el bajo pasara de ser mero acompañante rítmico a ser un elemento con vida propia, capaz de aportar un sonido diferencial en una canción, su técnica ha influido a una cantidad de bajistas como Geddy Lee de Rush, Steve Harris de Iron Maiden, Michael Anthony de Van Halen y Adam Clayton de U2.
En 2011, Entwistle fue seleccionado como el mejor bajista de todos los tiempos en una encuesta elaborada por lectores de la revista Rolling Stone. Eduardo Rodríguez Rodway (Sevilla, 1945) es un músico y cantante español, conocido por haber sido guitarrista del grupo de rock Triana.

Nace en 10 de junio 1945 en la ciudad de Sevilla. Sus primeros escarceos musicales empezaron a los 16 años con otros jóvenes sevillanos, recorriendo ferias y plazas, período de iniciación que duraría unos cuatro años, tras los cuales se iría por un breve tiempo a París. Al regresar a España cumpliría el servicio militar obligatorio en Aviación.
Tras esto, arrancaría ya en firme su carrera musical, primero con el grupo Flexor’s a la guitarra eléctrica, el más antiguo grupo de rock sevillano, interpretando rock and roll por las bases militares estadounidenses de Andalucía.
Más tarde formaría parte del grupo Los Payos retomando la guitarra española, donde conseguiría repercusión y cuyo mayor éxito fue la célebre canción María Isabel en 1969, de cuyo sencillo la cara B fue Compasión, una composición de Eduardo. En esta formación conoció a Juan José Palacios Tele. Posteriormente pasó a formar parte del grupo Tabaca, donde coincidió con Jesús de la Rosa Luque.
Así estuvo hasta la formación de la banda Triana, junto a Jesús de la Rosa y Juan José Palacios, creando un nuevo género dentro del marco de la música rock española, el llamado rock andaluz, el cual combinaba rock progresivo con sonoridades propias de la música flamenca.
Eduardo colaboró en la composición, y compuso canciones propias en todos los discos de Triana, excepto en el álbum debut, El patio.
Tras la disolución de esta banda en 1983, por la muerte de Jesús de la Rosa, Rodríguez publicó dos discos en solitario, Velo de amor (1986) y Noche y día (1987), que pasaron de manera injusta prácticamente desapercibidos.
Rodríguez se trasladó entonces a Los Caños de Meca (Cádiz), donde vive actualmente.

Duane Allman
Duane Allman (Nashville, Tennessee, 20 de noviembre de 1946 – Macon, Georgia, 29 de octubre de 1971) fue un famoso guitarrista de rock y blues estadounidense, conocido por sus trabajos con la guitarra slide. Importante guitarrista de sesión y miembro fundador de The Allman Brothers Band. También fue integrante del súper grupo Derek and the Dominos, a comienzos de los años 1970.

En su juventud él y su hermano Gregg Allman, fundan el grupo “Allman Joys”, en 1965 publican su primer single Spoonful, luego cambian de nombre a “The Hour Glass” lanzando dos discos que no tienen fama para luego separarse en 1968, regresando a Florida. Duane grabó posteriormente con Wilson Pickett, un cover de «Hey Jude» de The Beatles y fue contratado como músico de sesión por el sello Atlantic, lo que le permitió trabajar con artistas como Aretha Franklin, Boz Scaggs, Laura Nyro o King Curtis.
Junto con el baterista Butch Trucks, el bajista Berry Oakley y su hermano Gregg Allman, fundaron en 1969 la banda de rock sureño, llamada The Allman Brothers Band, en Nueva York.
Duane había acudido a la mansión de la banda para felicitar a la mujer de Berry Oakley por su cumpleaños. Después una pequeña comitiva partía hacia la casa de Duane para recoger el pastel de cumpleaños y unos regalos. El rubio Duane, entusiasta de las motos desde muy joven, se montó en su Harley Davidson. La hermana de Berry se montó en un coche junto con la novia de Duane, Dixie. El propio Berry les seguía en otro coche. Eran alrededor de las cinco y media de la tarde.
Duane encabezaba la marcha, y tras girar en Hillcrest Avenue, el coche con las chicas le siguió, pero Berry se despistó y tuvo que hacer un recorrido más largo para llegar a casa del guitarrista. Mientras, montado en su chopper, Duane se saltaba el límite de velocidad y comenzaba a dejar el coche de las chicas atrás. Cuando la calle comenzó a ponerse cuesta abajo, Duane pisó el acelerador.
Al acercarse a la intersección de Bartlett Avenue, un camión se dirigía hacia Duane. El camión tenía detrás una típica grúa amarilla, que se usaba para descargar madera. No parece estar del todo claro si Duane vio a tiempo el camión o no. Lo cierto es que el vehículo comenzó a girar hacia la izquierda y el guitarrista comenzó a llevar su motocicleta hacia el otro lado para rodear al camión. Según alguna versión, el camión se paró por algún motivo, bloqueando el camino. Por la razón que fuera, Duane no pudo esquivarlo y su moto chocó y saltó por los aires. El guitarrista perdió su casco y aterrizó debajo de su moto, que se deslizó varios metros a lo largo de la carretera. Aunque maltrecho, aparentemente había salido con vida del accidente, pero varios derrames internos probaron ser fatales. Duane Allman muere en el hospital pocas horas después.
En 2003 la revista Rolling Stone situó en la Lista de los 100 guitarristas más grandes de todos los tiempos a Duane Allman como el 9º mejor guitarrista de la historia.
En su honor, y recordando su trágica muerte, Lynyrd Skynyrd publicó la mítica canción Free Bird.
